Final Fantasy Black Mage

Some people are just super talented. To be able to take a pixelated little character like this black mage from the Final Fantasy series and turn it into an actual toy is pretty amazing. I found a pattern for the black mage from seller JanaGeek on Etsy (shoutout to JanaGeek for writing this adorable pattern!) I haven't grasped how to turn a vision into an actual crochet toy yet, maybe I will one day, but for now I rely on the talent of others and their wonderful patterns for my crochet creations. :)

Knit "Clayoquot" Hat

This is my first fair isle knitting project and I love it! I want to start another one right away! This was a great project if you're a beginner in fair isle like me. Also, the pattern is free! It doesn't get much better :) I intended to make this for my two year old, but it fits my four year old a bit better. So, the next hat I make will be for my little guy.

Pattern is Clayoquot Toque from Tin Can Knits

Shy Guy Plushie

As a request, I made Shy Guy from Super Mario. I loosely followed this pattern from crochet_goods. He took several hours & putting together all of the pieces was tedious work, but worth it!

Someone requested a Pokemon for their son, and when I asked "Which one?" They said, "Oh I don't know any, you pick." I knew I had to make Charmander. (Can you guess which Pokemon I would choose when starting the game?) I found a pattern on the Wolfdreamer blog, where you can find a plethora of Pokemon patterns! I changed it quite a bit, and I am very happy with how it came out!

Crochet Grave Site Comes to Life

For me, it's never too early to start thinking about Halloween. I love decorating and thinking about how I'm going to make my kid's costumes every year. Last year I made a couple little pumpkin dudes you can see one in this post), one to sit in my apartment and one for my mom's work desk. Even though it's August, I'm getting excited for my favorite time of year!

I came across a little grave pattern with a zombie hand from (little warning before you click, some of the work is a bit graphic) and I knew I had to make it! It was a fun, quick project that I finished in one day - Not bad!!

Reversible Legend of Zelda Neck Warmer

I was in a huge crafting slump for the past several weeks. With PAX East coming up fast, I knew I had to make something & it had to be gamer themed! I decided on a knit reversible neck warmer with the Hylian crest! I could not be more pleased with the outcome!

I did end up adding this to my Etsy shop - so be on the look out! :)

Crochet Nintendo 64 Controller

I was asked if I could make a Nintendo 64 controller pillow. While I think that idea is awesome, I just don't see how I could accomplish it because of the controller's odd shape.

I searched for patterns for a bit and couldn't find any of Nintendo 64 controllers :( I thought the shapes looked easy enough so I was going to try it myself with no pattern. While I think mine came out a bit more cartoon-ish than realistic, I still think I did pretty good! I spent the better part of today working on this and I am very happy with the results :)

Knock-off controller we had laying around for size/accuracy comparison
I even wrote notes while I was crocheting so if anyone is interested, I could write up a pattern!

Lucas loves Megaman

I crocheted Megaman almost TWO years ago. Lucas still plays with him almost daily. Megaman has survived getting a "bath" in the toilet by Lucas and a few trips through the washer, along with the tortuous ways that a little boy plays with his toys.

I did my first repair on him today when the stitches holding Megaman's arm came loose. Lucas sat next to me while I was performing this delicate procedure & he whispered, "Mommy, I'm scared. I can't look!" And he covered his eyes as I took my sewing needle and quickly finished the repair.

This got me thinking about how long Megaman has lasted and has been so well loved.. & how much my sewing skills have greatly improved.

Megaman the day I finished making him & almost two years later on the right.
