Hylian Shield Fail

So, based on the chart I made in a previous post, I started to crochet my Hylian shield. & Yeah...

Crap. When I made my chart, I, stupidly, did not make sure that each box was a perfect square. Annnd, they weren't. Because of that, the shield came out much too narrow. Now, I'm making a new chart and resizing all of my boxes so that it will turn out the way I would like it to. Haven't decided if I should just pull all of this out, or finish it and make it a hanging banner or something. /Sigh

Nintendo Controller Pillow

The Nintendo Controller pillow seems to be very popular at the moment! :) It takes me about 3 days to complete the whole thing & now I need to go out and get more stuffing :) Here are some more pictures of it.
Two year old. Messy apartment. Husband's desk (including energy drink, of coarse), my desk & YARN haha <3

The back of the pillow

...Now, to start that Hylian shield!!

Mr. Moogly Bear

If anyone is like my soon-to-be-husband, you might be on a Final Fantasy kick right now with FFXIV coming out. "OMG I GOT INTO THE BETA," "OMG IT'S SOOO AMAZING!" He's calling his friends screaming & all giddy.  I swear, when a new game is coming out that he is excited for, he turns into a pre-teen at a Justin Bieber concert. Although, I have never personally played a FF game; I know FF has some of the cuuutest characters in game (see baby chocobo in post below).
**Mr. Moogly Bear:

Size comparison. 2 month old vs. Moogle

So there he is. I used this pattern to make him.

Disclaimer: My almost-hubby isn't that bad. Maybe. OK, yes.. yes he is.

Love ya babe!

Does this count as creating my own pattern? I like to think so, even though I only played around on a spreadsheet with the colors. I am super excited that someone asked me to make a Hylian shield pillow as Legend of Zelda is my all time fave. Seriously, I may have a problem. I have a couple other projects that I have to do first, but I can't wait to get started on this!
Each box represents one stitch so I should be golden... Hopefully >.<

Yessss, those adorable little minions from Despicable Me! I have crocheted one, using THIS awesome pattern! He is so cute, I may have a hard time giving him up. Anyway, enough nonsense. Here is the finished product:

He is about 14" tall.. about the same size as my newborn all scrunched up :P

Here Goes Nothin'!

My son's absolute favorite show is Team Umi Zoomi on Nickjr. His favorite character is "Bot." I have been promising him a crocheted Bot for some time & now, I think it's time.
My plan is to try to make this green robot dude without a pattern and see how it goes. He looks easy enough.... right? For better or worse, I'll update as I go.

May The Force Be With You

I've been wanting to crochet something for my two year old since Megaman got a "bath" in the toilet. What's better than a perfectly-sized-for-him lightsaber?! I came across a free pattern here. I didn't follow it exactly, but close enough. I love it, he loves it.. Heck, even my 7 week old loves it!

My stupid thumb got in that third picture. Oh, well.

Isn't he the cutest Sith you've ever seen?! Tomorrow, I will try to update with a picture of my toddler and the saber.

Finished Projects

I figured I would make a post with some of the projects I have already completed. These were all done anytime between November of 2012 and now. I have come a long way since I first started and it will certainly show! I am going to link the patterns for each one that I made. You will see that my earlier work I used back loops only on almost all my work. I seriously thought a lot of my stuff looked better that way. It doesn't and I've since gotten better (At least, I think so). I'll start with newest to oldest. This is going to be one long post...

Here is a baby chocobo! He is completed; except eyes, of coarse. I'll get around to cutting up some felt eventually..

Nintendo Controller Pillow. This was my first attempt at tunisian crochet and I am in love.

These are wine cozies someone commissioned from me. I just used some stitches I already knew and worked them up to the size of a wine bottle! Cute idea for a small gift!

Mickey Mouse hat and diaper cover just because it's adorable.

Graduation inspired yoshi

Megaman (My two year olds absolute fave)

This is Hobbes. He is my first plushie where I did not follow a pattern. Not too shabby, eh? However, he was inspired by this Hobbes.

OK, I'll stop there. I have made several other things, but it's alright. As you can see I love the Wolfdreamer blog, she's pretty amazing.. and all free patterns! I'm going to attempt to post my work regularly and will update as I go :)

My First Post

I'm new to this whole blog thing, but I figure I read enough of them to figure this out haha! I'm not sure what this will turn into just yet. Maybe just a way I can showcase what I have been working on lately. I am still so new in my crochet "career." I only started around October or November of 2012 and I have come so far in just that short amount of time.

I would really love to start creating my own pieces without using patterns. My favorite things to crochet are amigurumi type and create plushies! I have just started to try my hand at some baby sweaters though which I find I really enjoy as well. We will see where my yarn bending skills will take me! ^.^
